I found this interesting:
Earlier in the season, Chase Claypool catches the ball in bounds as the clock is ticking. He should have found the umpire, handed him the ball, and lined up for the next play. Instead he did some "look at me" type showboating and the clock ticked. He was skewered nationally for costing his team valuable seconds - and rightfully so. his coach also held him responsible for his mistake.
Dak Prescott ran the ball up the middle of the field and was tackled in bounds as the clock was ticking. He should have found the umpire, handed him the ball, and lined up for the next play. Instead he and his center placed the ball and acted as if they were going to run the next play. Because of this the umpire was blocked from getting to the ball and the clock wound down to zero. Unlike Claypool, Dak is being defended, justifying the fans throwing debris at the officials, and his coach is criticizing...the officials, not his QB who made the error.
Aside from the showboating aspect, same error by a more veteran player who should know better. Just found the different reactions interesting.
That's not what I was referring to, but again I don't see much difference between the two, like I said both have one SB win, both were hired around the same time, both had generational QB's, McCarthy has had more success in the playoffs since his SB win, has a better playoff record, better playoff winning percentage. Tomlin has 11 more regular season wins, kinda crazy actually.
