I think that Bud is a very good piece on a good D that can already pressure the QB. Bud is not the guy who you build around.

Bud will be fine with the Titans , remember it took him over 3 years to look decent ( then really good) in this system here ... he is a slow developer in scheme ( maybe not real bright ? ) then couple that with the fact he is still not 100% ( no way he can be yet ) .... they over paid for him because they needed the production he produced here in his final 2 years and quite frankly I doubt they ever get that as partly it was the system and partly it was the fact TJ was on the other side ... he has neither now so ....

    Agreed

He's coming off a fairly late ACL injury.

I think he'll be fine over there too.

But I'd much rather have our edge rusher situation at the cap hits we're paying.

They did the same thing down here with Matt Rhule. Had people asking if he would leave on sports radio because one article had his name in it.

    Anything for clicks and views.

They should at least wait until the bye.

I won't mind seeing bud do well, as long as it doesn't effect us.

but he'll be long gone if it takes him until year 3 to show what he can do. his dead cap hit in year 3 of that contact goes from $28M to $9.6M

In their first 4 seasons with the Steelers Bust Dupree had a total of 20 sacks while T.J. Watt had 49.5 sacks. Bust is a bum by comparison.
Obviously the standard is the standard.

even if the cap hit were the same I think with Highsmith and Ingram we are in better shape as we are now insulated vs injury and as long as healthy we always have a fresh body to plug in for a few snap on either side allowing both edges to stay fresh an quite frankly ( granted just 1 game ) Ingram looks like he is playing the best ball of his life at 31 ... the man was all over the field and looked unstoppable
