    Chicki retires

He ended up about how he was drafted: a 6th rounder, ST player, purely back up OLB. Some had high hopes for him, I never really did.

Yep. Any 6th rounder that makes a contribution is an over-achiever IMO.

Not a guy you want to take defensive snaps.

But was a good guy on teams.

And if that's how you make you're money, you probably don't want to have a super long career...although I guess they're trying to make ST less violent.

    Thanks for your contributions Chickillo!

And he did have his moments on D; it wasn't like he was totally worthless. He had 7 sacks between 2016-2018. He just wasn't starter material. Plenty worth it as a 6th rounder.

And to compare to other 6th round picks:

    https://www.pro-football-reference.c.../pit/draft.htm

2021. OLB Roche. Limitations is why he fell so deep.
    2020 . Antoine Brooks, Jr. (S) Can't cover a lick, purely a box S. Here because he's from MD.
2019 . Sutton Smith - we shall see this year what he has. (CB). Buggs (DL) Showed some promise. Gilbert (LB), seemingly won't make an impact on team.
2018 . None. Samuels closest thing (2nd 5th round). Unlikely to make team.
    2017 . Holba, LS.
2016 . Feeney (LB). Never did anything.
2015. Chickillo and Ayers (WR). Did nothing.
2014. Zumwalt (LB). Did nothing. McCullers (DT). Stood around for a few years. Couldn't move, got winded after 2 plays.
2013. Justib Brown (WR). Nothing. Vince William (LB). Great pick, never will be an All Pro, but is a legit NFL starter.
2012. No 6th rounder, Chris Rainey (RB) was a 5th round midget bum.
    2011. Williams (OG), bum.
2010. Dwyer (RB). I had high hope for this guy, ended up being a bust. A. Brown, one of the best 6th rounder picks of all time.
    2009. Harris (DT). Bum.
    2008. Humpal (LB). Bum.
    2007. None.

pretty typical NFL career for Chick.... non-descript for a handful of years, then exit.

You are thinking of Cam Sutton (2017 3rd rd). Sutton Smith showed what he had long ago.....not much.

    Waived by Steelers (2019)
Signed to Jags PS and released a week later (2019)
Re-signed to Steelers PS and waived a day later (2019)
Signed to Seahawks PS (2019) released (2020)
    Signed by Saints (2021)

That list speaks for itself though. The only players who stand out above a guy like Chick are AB and Vinnie Will.

    I stand corrected.
