Update:
In the last decade, 25% of the league has won a super bowl(the Steelers aren't one of them) and now 50% have as many or more playoff wins as the Steelers.

I guess you continue to struggle with facts....maybe this will help; 8 of the top 10 QB classes were in the Cowher era including the #1 class of all time (and Cowher wasn't a buyer).

Anyone who says this is very wrong IMO.
He was a flier that they hoped panned out.
I don't think BC thought you needed a QB that was all that great.
An OK guy was able to be successful to very successful with a great D and a rushing attack that gets 3.5 YPC consistently.
I think that's the Cowher / Marty strategy.
And it was a very good strategy in the 90s when you were still allowed to play very physical defense.
Yep.
It would have been nice if we picked Brady instead of Martin. But no one in the NFL thought Brady would be 1/10th of what he turned out to be.
I think drafting is like being forced to pick individual stocks. Pretty random. And you credit your intelligence when it works, and bad luck when it doesn't.
Unfortunately, there's no index fund equivalent in the draft. So, you do what you can and hope for the best.
