Well to be honest he took a QB when the Pat's got Brady.. just the wrong one.

This and the fact that he only wanted Rivers and didnt want Ben makes clear he had no clue about evaluating the position.

The fact that he took T Martin over anyone should make this clear.

You win some, you lose some. Rooney passed over Marino and admitted that was the worst mistake they ever made on draft day.

Everybody passed an Brady a bunch of times.
Actually seeing cowhers didn’t draft any real qbs proves how good he was at evaluating them.
When you can only come up with 2 qbs in his entire time as HC, shows this.
When HC after HC year after year reached for qbs, cowhers knew to draft defense and develop a running game.

Look who Tomlin has passed over.
    Update:
In the last decade, 25% of the league has won a super bowl(the Steelers aren't one of them) and now 50% have as many or more playoff wins as the Steelers.

This is generally what happens to UFAs that get signed early IMO.

To be fair scouting QBs is very hard and no one really knows how to do it. Especially once you get out of the top 1 or 2 guys in a class.

I remember you saying what a great pick tee Martin was and how he was going to be the next HOFer qb for us.
