The Judon compromise deal (splitting the difference of 2M) seems like the way to go here as well.

Now that they are calling 3-4 DEs DTs (see Heyward) I don't know what to think. Who decided 3-4 DEs are now to be considered DTs???? Since they are doing that, maybe Bud has a point.

    ^^^^^^^^^^^this
From the 2010-2019 season, (A 9 year period that the majority of Cowher's players & coaches had left) Mike Tomlin has only won 3 playoff games. And two of those wins were against back up Quarterbacks.
Dolphin fans in the 90ís who wanted to hold on to Don Shula for what he did in the 70ís...

Are the same as Steeler fans (of 2020 ) holding on to Tomlin for what he did in 2008.

the argument here is that the 3-4 OLB and the 4-3 DE perform the same duties, just under a different name. Over the last few years that name has been combined to "Edge Rusher". So, the question becomes, should all edge rushers receive the same tender, or should they be paid based on the name of their positions. Given that, keep in mind that whatever decision made should also affect the 3-4 DE and 4-3 OLB.

But now that 3-4 ends are being qualified as DTs, does that help or hurt 3-4 ends?
