Mock down count down

I have plenty of time on my hand because of this damn lockdown, so I will do a daily mock using the 2 draft sites the draft network ( I will do one automatic and one manual.) and the other Firstpick, where you can do trades.

the draft network

4.135) Okwuegbunam, TE Missouri
6.19 GAndy-Golden WE, Liberty
7.232) Runyan, OT Michigan

I must say not bad...

Manuel

2.49) CEH ( is he a 3 down back? In 2020, he doesn't have to be. Fits in nice with Conner and Snell)

ďIím so tired of LeíVeon," DeCastro told reporters (h/t ESPN's Jeremy Fowler (https://twitter.com/JFowlerESPN/status/1038909446146203649)) after Sunday's game. "Iím so tired of it. Letís just worry about the guys in here. I know you guys have stories to write and what not. I love LeíVeon, but we gotta worry about the guys in here. Theyíre the only people that matter to me."

Runyan certainly has the pedigree to be a solid pro. McKivitz was solid at WVU...and should also challenge for PT this year. Either would be welcome additions.

Runyan in the 7th is about right. He may go undrafted just because he will change positions and have to kick inside at the next level.

I found this article pretty interesting because this guys considers the interior o-line prospects weak this draft class which isn’t great for us.
From the 2010-2019 season, (A 9 year period that the majority of Cowher's players & coaches had left) Mike Tomlin has only won 3 playoff games. And two of those wins were against back up Quarterbacks.
Dolphin fans in the 90ís who wanted to hold on to Don Shula for what he did in the 70ís...

Are the same as Steeler fans (of 2020 ) holding on to Tomlin for what he did in 2008.

I saw that article, I think he takes in acount superstar talent compared to average starter talent. I also heard them debate about it on SNR.

That is why I changed my tune in drafting Cushenberry, Ruiz early. The value compared to WR-RB-OT is too great in the 1st 2 rounds, you might even get a 3rd grade valued WR in 6-7th round. Why so bad for IOL, most G and C in this draft are purely either one not a combo.

If you notice QB is ranked worst (Hurst lovers), and safety bad rap when compare to other classes- no superstar, TE uninspiring, LB class is ok.

The edge, besides Young is probably worst than IOL. All have their flaws, either: size-speed-twitch- vs run- 1st step, that is why boom or bust talent. Some of those Edges might be better inside 3-4.

That is why I don't even want to draft an edge, but think take the risk to push OLA Skipper or at worst lifetime #3 OLB and special teams. Should of taken WR there.

I have a feeling the later TEs or H backs will be better prospects the top 5. Suliven, Keenen, & Degursa. Need to test-push Gentry, and if we play 2 TE sets, going to need a reserve to fill in for our snap missing TEs.

I actually think that Watt will be used as a 2nd TE quite a bit, as it's a role he can play. IMO, I can't really see us pulling the trigger on a TE this year, even late, unless we get a few more picks available to us. Maybe Nate Wieting (Iowa--they put out some good TE's) or Chris Garrison from BC will be a UDFA and a camp body to push Gentry.

I agree that while TE was definitely a consideration a month ago, I would be shocked if they drafted one before the sixth, if at all. The team is now financially committed to two guys - Vance and Ebron. There is a sophomore draftee on the roster, and I think that this team typically likes to see how players evolve in their second year. Finally, there have been several articles written about Scotland-Williamson over the last six months or so, and how he is progressing in (I think) his third year. It is always important to remember with some guys, while we might not be hearing much on a regular basis, the FO is constantly monitoring these guys. If CSW is progressing, they know about it.

So, the team has two bona fide NFL TEs, and two potential NFL roster level TEs. This in a weak TE draft, so doubtful you are upgrading much on Ebron or McDonald early, and later in the draft, all you will find is a body to compete with the other two for the #3 TE spot. Maybe if there is a guy you love, but it is way down the draft wish list.

For those exact reasons, there's no way their taking TE in this draft. And if Cushenberry is there, he needs to be our selection (most definitely) at # 49. The key to our success this coming year is the effectiveness of the O-line. So we need to fix that first and foremost.

I 100% agree with this: TE is mostly off the board, too many bigger needs. Got to address RB, DL, OL, LB.
