RB in the draft

With all the moves going into FA, are the stars in line for us to take the 1st or 2nd RB in the draft?

And the way it looks to be a run on T and WR early in the 2nd.
ďIím so tired of LeíVeon," DeCastro told reporters (h/t ESPN's Jeremy Fowler (https://twitter.com/JFowlerESPN/status/1038909446146203649)) after Sunday's game. "Iím so tired of it. Letís just worry about the guys in here. I know you guys have stories to write and what not. I love LeíVeon, but we gotta worry about the guys in here. Theyíre the only people that matter to me."

No.

Our O-line still needs to be seriously addressed along with OLB/ edge rusher help as well.
From the 2010-2019 season, (A 9 year period that the majority of Cowher's players & coaches had left) Mike Tomlin has only won 3 playoff games. And two of those wins were against back up Quarterbacks.

WE WILL NOT WIN ANOTHER SUPER BOWL WITH MIKE TOMLIN AS OUR HEAD COACH. So why delay the inevitable?

Dolphin fans in the 90ís who wanted to hold on to Don Shula for what he did in the 70ís...

Are the same as Steeler fans (of 2020 ) holding on to Tomlin for what he did in 2008.

I think we have bigger needs at 49.
In the last decade, 25% of the league has won a super bowl(the Steelers aren't one of them) and 25% have as many or more playoff wins as the Steelers.

Yes, I'd like to see an OG and OT taken for development, but RB is a higher need. And let's look at them.

1. D Swift. Not gonna be there by our pick.

2. Jon Taylor. Gone.

2.b. Dobbins. Gone.

3. Clyde Edwards-Helaire, LSU. Likely gone. More of a change-of-pace back, 3rd-down type, a little on the smallish side. Pass blocking iffy. Not sure they would feel he's a fit.

4. Cam Akers, FSU. Has no physical limitations: has power, speed, wiggle. But he's raw and has yet to master certain skills, like pass pro. Many compare him to Mark Ingram and I wouldn't mind an Ingram in his prime.

5. Zack Moss, UT. A powerful beast who is still fluid. Biggest knock on him is lacks top gear and burst. Compared to Kareem Hunt. Hell, I'd welcome a Hunt here minus the poor character any day. This could be our guy.

6. Antonio Gibson, Memphis. I think we need more of a traditional RB (he is more of a receiver) but he could be pretty explosive with the right team.

7. AJ Dillon, Boston. Big bruiser. He's the guy they take. Bettis, Jr.

Everyone who needs a RB traded or got a RB ... besides Detroit, and they all have other pressing needs

I think most of those rbs will be available at 49.
I just think we need ot, g/c, ilb, olb first.
I don't think rbs need much developing. I want to see our corp fight it out. I think there is plenty there to work with if our coaching staff uses them to their abilities

I agree that Dobbins will be gone along with Taylor.
Akers should be there and could be a steal. He is a former 5* prospect that was misused by the coaching staff mess at FSU. The kid has a high ceiling.

The only teams before us that I see that need a RB are:

Miami, probably take Swift in 1st,
TB, but they will probably take D or OL, they wont trust a rookie in pass protection

Teams who might, but have other needs to take a RB early in 2nd, most likely WR, QB, OL, or D
Detroit
Chargers
INDY
