Burns was the ultimate "Panic pick". We were going with WJ3, then Cincy swiped him the pick before...
Artie showed some promise early on... just lost his confidence. Hope he finds it again in Chicago.

Howard went 13 picks later to Miami. Would have been a so much better choice. Burns contract is so low we'll likely receive no comp pick for the loss. Glad this chapter is over.

It’s funny to me now that in the 2016 draft that I really wanted the Steelers to draft Paxton Lynch instead of Artie Burns. When the Broncos took Lynch one pick after Burns I was irate thinking we really blew it.

Don't be mad because you said Burns was bpa, great, Hof, etc etc and turned out to be wrong again.
In the last decade, 25% of the league has won a super bowl(the Steelers aren't one of them) and 25% have as many or more playoff wins as the Steelers.

Clearing dead wood... so far, I like the roster churn. If nothing else it sends a message that it won't be business as usual for some guys.

CB Pierre Desir just released by the Colts today. He'd be a nice add, but will no doubt cost too much.
    Jets snapped him up today.

This is exactly what happened. Cincy stuck it to us that year.
From the 2010-2019 season, (A 9 year period that the majority of Cowher's players & coaches had left) Mike Tomlin has only won 3 playoff games. And two of those wins were against back up Quarterbacks.

WE WILL NOT WIN ANOTHER SUPER BOWL WITH MIKE TOMLIN AS OUR HEAD COACH. So why delay the inevitable?

Dolphin fans in the 90ís who wanted to hold on to Don Shula for what he did in the 70ís...

Are the same as Steeler fans (of 2020 ) holding on to Tomlin for what he did in 2008.

The value of a good cornerback can't be understated. Especially for us. We continue to struggle finding them.
