12 pro bowlers and they don't win a playoff game
A) To call this a fluke is totally dismissive of a great gameplan designed to limit LJ's impact. Especially stretching his runs to sidelines and eliminating his favorite passing attack (inside TE's).
B) The yards the Ravens is no indication of how impressive LJ is or isn't. The fact is about a quarter and a 1/3 the Titans D basically traded yards for time. Someone already posted how many yards the Ravens had going into the 4th quarter.
IMO the 4th quarter was what they "fantasy football time" in the regular season.
C) going for it on 4th down is not an automatic. The stats just say more often than not you should go for it.
The problem here is that during a 16 game marathon it makes a lot of sense because you still have another game.
Ravens were due given their perfect regular season. I think you do have to adjust your playoff mindset a little as a head coach.
D) LJ's throws on out routes looked slow/weak. I think this was something the Titan's saw on film and game planned to force. I am not adept enough to know if this is something that can be coached.
People say its arm strength. That seems odd to me because LJ looks like he has a strong arm...so I won't comment on his long term viability as a thrower.
E) Ingram's injury impacted the Ravens gameplan. I have no doubt it made a difference.
F) Wow look how football can still be a run first game. Makes me laugh how the "low IQ" fan needs constant scoring to be entertained. I am seeing football the way it is supposed to be played and am enjoying the playoffs this year.
G) This is a no duh comment...the Steelers did not belong in the post season. The right team made it. Furthermore, the Titans team may represent the AFC. I would state the easiest defense they will face in the playoffs will be the one they face next week. Ironically, because they played a 1 seed, they will have an extra day of rest. Not saying it's a given, saying they have more than a puncher's chance.

It was no fluke. Harbaugh's limitations exposed - cocky, complacent, shoes stink, terrible fourth down calls, terrible time management (last 2 drives), lack of leadership, frustrated players spazzing out on the sidelines. His #1 seeded 14-2 team was looking ahead and ended up humiliated with 12 points at home in the playoffs.
My afc teams going in we’re the chiefs and the bills - but after watching the titans take out NE and BAL - hard not to say they’ve earned a trip to the SB. only team left I really hate is Houston.
2014 MNF EXEC CHAMPION!!!
This is why playoff football is so exciting. Sometimes a team gets hot or is in playoff mode so long they are locked in. I’ve always had mixed feelings about resting healthy players in the last game when you have a bye.
I lost a bet about Najee gaining 1300 yards.
"Our head coach has failed to win a playoff game for seven years in a row. His game day strategy, culture of divas, in game decisions, clock management, player evaluation, hires, and affinity with sub par starters at RB, P, and OL are holding the Steelers back. That standard remains the standard"
The Rave-Tit game announcers were mentioning Ravens' rust, while the 49-Vikes game announcers were saying Vikings were looking tired from "short week" and 49ers were looking rested on two weeks. It looks like a factor that can be thrown in as a justification for anything at hand.
If anyone told me LJ would have 59 throwing attempts in a game I’d say it would be a loss. Why on earth did their OC go away from the running game, yes I understand Ingram was injured but they have other backs. If you’re expecting LJ to win a game throwing THAT much you’re a fool
Steelgal,
It's a bit misleading. I looked over the play by play.
At 4:13 remaining in the 3rd quarter until end of game, Lamar Jackson threw 32 times. This was right after the score went to three scores 28 - 6.
At that point, the Ravens had little being down there scores and roughly 3 possessions remaining to score 3 TD's.
