    The Devin Not Taken...

I had to chuckle after I read this write-up on Devin White. Scratch 'White' and insert 'Bush' and this is exactly what we are reading about the Steelers #1 draft pick:

ESPN gives progress report on Bucs rookie LB Devin White

    By: Colin J. Liotta | June 3, 2019 1:25 pm ET

It’s hard to get a real read on a player until training camp beings and the pads come out, but that won’t stop us from trying to predict what the future holds for this year’s first-round class of rookies.

ESPN has come out with a new progress report, examining how each rookie has looked so far with their new team. And, for Tampa Bay Buccaneers fans, the report on linebacker Devin White is a glowing one.

    Per Jenna Laine of ESPN:

“White has been everything the Bucs hoped — an impact playmaker and a vocal leader for the defense. He has grasped Todd Bowles’ system very quickly and has been leading the defensive huddle since Day 1.”

And White has caught the attention of many of his teammates, including quarterback Jameis Winston.

“On the second play of OTAs, White picked off quarterback Jameis Winston, his third interception in three practices. ‘Devin White, he’s been outstanding,’ Winston said.”

If a kid brought home a progress report like this from school his parents would take him out for ice cream. Laine, and many others, believe White has a solid chance to nab Defensive Rookie of the Year honors when it’s all said and done. And, given what we’ve heard so far, he might already be the favorite to take home the award.

I'm getting my Devins confused when you are providing a write-up of Tampa's Devin in green print that is the color of a Bush rather than...uh...White.
Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.
