When do rookies typically get numbers assigned?

Think they will give away 84? I hope so

Would love to see Snell get 26

I'd imagine, with almost total certainty, someone is going to get 84- if only for the symbolism of- we're moving on.

I suspect it's a foregone conclusion Snell will be wearing 26.

They should create a ring of shame and retire number 84 into it.

I hope they don't do either.

Let these guys be themselves instead of living in the shadows of elite players.

But if they do give them those two numbers, I know Bell and Brown will have some twitter reaction.
From the 2010-2018 season, (An 8 year period that the majority of Cowher's players & coaches had left) Mike Tomlin has only won 3 playoff games. And two of those wins were against back up Quarterbacks. Our history has been defined by what we do in the postseason; not the regular season.

My official proclamation: WE WILL NOT WIN ANOTHER SUPER BOWL WITH MIKE TOMLIN AS OUR HEAD COACH. SO WHY DELAY THE INEVITABLE?

    FIRE MIKE TOMLIN

I agree with that. Giving out those numbers so soon isn't really good for those players or the team IMO.

Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.

Considering he wore 26 in college and his name also ends in "-ELL" I imagine this should be the case.

If that happens, you'll probably find more than a few shops down in the Strip District selling "SN" fabric swatches that you can stitch onto the back of your old Bell jerseys.
