Looks like they are re-doing Bens contract here soon. Probably add a year or so to the deal.

Kind of easy to do when you have the cash.
Browns still have to go through training camp and a season before they are dubbed the team to beat
As long as Bens here we still have a chance
Well their going to have more as long as we waste our money on cornballs like Bud Dupree.
From the 2010-2018 season, (8 years after Cowher's players & coaches had left) Mike Tomlin has only won 3 playoff games. And two of those wins were against back up Quarterbacks. Our history has been defined by what we do in the postseason; not the regular season.

Also he is doing well revamping that whole organization. And now putting some excitement into a long long time losing franchise.
I don't fault them for that. We all get to see how that will work out.

The Steelers for the good or bad run there business to be winners and contenders season after season.
That might not be the best for hard core fans. But it continues to make lots of money.
Interesting to see what happens after the franchise QB retires.

Ummm...you feel that we need to replace the 30 year olds on our line, who have grown up in our system and are well established as good fits, but then you are advocating for bringing in 30 years old outside free agents who are set in their ways and unfamiliar with our system? Sounds brilliant. Call Colbert.

No, I'm suggesting that we have a 2-3 year window, tops, with an elite QB. So to pass on a good FA just because they're 30 is insane.

I have no problem with adding players over 30 to short-term reasonable contracts.

What's insane is giving a 4 year, $55M contract ($32M guaranteed) to a guy who turns 30 this offseason, is entering his 10th year in the league, who broke the same leg twice (first in 2016, then again in 2018), the second time requiring a rod being surgically placed in his lower left leg. He was an excellent player and a model of consistency for the first 6 years of his career, and this contract would have been more than reasonable if it were the spring of 2016. But at his age and with his injury history, that deal is a monumental risk.

wouldn't restructure have meant "extending". I think Colbert's very aware of what he's doing and is still skeptical about Bud, at the moment. He has OLB as a possible selection early, should one fall. Bud's on a one-year "prove it" deal, that just happened to be an "it is what it is" contract.

Frankly, looking like ILB, TE, OLB are going to be the priorities in the draft.

I think the last two priorities in your list are interchangeable depending on who's there; But I think ILB is a lock first round pick.
