With Ben “short - term solutions are what we need to be looking at.

I think we have to balance what we do between short term/long term. There will be life after Ben is gone. But I'd like to see a couple of vets added to take advantage of Ben's closing window.
From the 2010-2018 season, (An 8 year period that the majority of Cowher's players & coaches had left) Mike Tomlin has only won 3 playoff games. And two of those wins were against back up Quarterbacks. Our history has been defined by what we do in the postseason; not the regular season.

this year's draft (combined with the last 2) will be the key to bridging the gap to the post Ben era. This is in my mind without a doubt the most important draft weve had in the Tomlin era.

I agree with you. In many ways, this is a cross roads in the Tomlin era. Let's see how Colbert feels about it when the free agency window opens. If Colbert comes out and handles free agency as usual, then we pretty much know how this in going to pan out. But if Colbert comes out and lands a stud like Mosley, then we'll know that management too is feeling a sense of urgency to win this year as well.

Chiefs are shopping both Houston and Ford ( although he is tagged).

They want a 2nd for Ford.

    Tempting...

It all depends what AB shakes out for us. If we get a first, would you trade back and spend a 2nd on him? Or go for an OLB in the first round, who should be cheaper, younger and we can mold into our liking.

Let’s just worry about the guys in here. I know you guys have stories to write and what not. I love Le’Veon, but we gotta worry about the guys in here. They’re the only people that matter to me."
