The Boss will be making some big field goals for us in these remaining 7 games.

This is a tough decision, last year he easily "won" 4 games for us, this year he "lost" 3 games for us. I just don't get it, even if we replace him, are we going to have confidence in the new kicker? How many times during this season did we tell ourselves that he is over his "funk".

The credit and blame doesn't fall on just one play or player through a course of a game. Example, what if we Tomlin did call a time-out, and we had another 30 seconds on the clock. After Juju's hook and lateral play, how much time was still on the clock? 20sec? That is enough for 2 plays to win the game with a TD no tie the score to go into OT.

What if we stopped them on that 4 and 4-6 play to take the lead...

ďIím so tired of LeíVeon," DeCastro told reporters (h/t ESPN's Jeremy Fowler (https://twitter.com/JFowlerESPN/status/1038909446146203649)) after Sunday's game. "Iím so tired of it. Letís just worry about the guys in here. I know you guys have stories to write and what not. I love LeíVeon, but we gotta worry about the guys in here. Theyíre the only people that matter to me."

Kai Forbath had a strong kicking workout with the Steelers and the team is keeping him on hold while they figure out Chris Boswell's situation. Thursday's practice could be big for Boswell.

Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.

Last year I could leave the room after a TD and know that there is 7 on the board when I get back. This year you have to start holding your breath as soon as the ball crosses the goal line, and only let it out after the extra point has been kicked.

I'm curious how simulate game situation pressure in practice? That's when the rubber meets the road. Fifty yarder into the open end of the stadium, points before the half, 4th quarter FGs, game winning FGs are all a little different live than in practice.

Steelers bringing in Shaun Suisham to work with Chris Boswell

Posted by Mike Florio on December 13, 2018, 1:58 PM EST

The Steelers need help at kicker. But instead of signing a new one, they’re bringing back an old one.

Ed Bouchette of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports that the Steelers will bring in former kicker Shaun Suisham to work with current kicker Chris Boswell.

Suisham spent five seasons with the Steelers, from 2010 through 2014. The 36-year-old has been out of the NFL since then.

The Steelers have opted to stick with Boswell, who in August signed a contract through 2022, after working out Kai Forbath and Matt McCrane earlier this week.

Boswell has had a rough year. He has missed six field goals and five extra points. Most recently, he slipped and fell while attempting a 40-yard field goal that would have forced overtime at Oakland.

If we're re-rolling the bad plays, we should probably re-roll the good ones too. I doubt we call the hook and ladder if we had more time on the clock because it's only something you do when you have almost no chance of winning.

I was just going to post this. Why don’t we just fire Danny Smith then if we need a specialist to work with Boz? Isn’t this the ST coaches job?

But who else could get their players to not block the gunners, hold or block in the back on punts?
I wish people would/could leave politics out of a Steelers Football Forum.

Before hiring Danny Smith as our sole special teams coordinator in 2013, we've used 2 special teams coaches during the Tomlin era (Bob Ligashesky and Amos Jones 2007-2009 and Al Everest and Amos Jones 2010-2012).

It's not unusual to have multiple coaches splitting duties at different positions. We also have two LB coaches now (Joey Porter and Jerry Olsavsky) and two OL coaches as well (Mike Munchak and Shaun Sarrett). Even though Karl Dunbar is officially the DL coach and assistant head coach John Mitchell has moved on to performing more staff development type of duties, I'm sure Mitchell also has been helping Dunbar a bunch during this transition year.
