Burns & Davis..what a pair they are.
Burns & Davis..what a pair they are.
The back to back plays when Davis almost killed Haden and Burns got beat by Antonio Gates pretty much sums up the top of the 2016 draft for the Steelers. It also shows why you should never reach for need in the draft.
I haven't given up on Davis, yet. I'm done with Burns. Best case scenario is you move him for another team's draft bust and hope that the change of scenery helps one of them.
I think you will struggle to find one single person on this board (other than yourself, of course), who ever referred to Artie Burns as a the steal of the draft. Yeah, corner was certainly a need heading into that draft, but most of that attention on this board regarding 1st round CB prospects was focused on possibility of drafting William Jackson III that year. When Cincy took him one spot ahead of us, the board consensus seemed to be that the F.O. reached to fill a need at that point rather than drafting the best available player. But keep spouting your catch phrases!
Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.
Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.
We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.
We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.
In view of the fact that Mike Tomlin has matched Cowhers record I give him the designation:
TCFCLTC-
The Coach Formerly Considered Less Than Cowher
