His lack of production is a bit shocking to me, especially given all the attention AB and Juju are getting. You'd think that Washington would be running free and making plays by now.

Well, he wasn't in the game was he? Switzer was.

Yeah - he looked totally awkward diving for a ball that hit him right in the hands. All he had to do was run through it.. I shocked too, since his hands and catching the ball seemed to be his strength. Hope this is not Limas Sweed II.

How does a guy who was a unanimous All-American and Biletnikoff winner in 2017 forget how to play his position? Because that's what it looks like. That dive was preposterous.

Ju Ju was on the field immediately last year and producing. If Washington was showing anything in practice he'd be getting opportunities. The 3rd WR spot was practically gift wrapped for him and he's been beaten out by an undrafted return specialist. It's not good.

He does "run free". The "making plays" part is the problem. Part of the issue is the is used as a deep threat but he ain't fast.

He gets open deep with a wierd burst but Ben (used to burners) overthrows him frequently. He and Ben have timing issues.

That said, as already stated, yesterday he should have just run through the throw.

I too worry about Sweed 2. The difference is that Sweed had dropsies in college too which was not Washington's rep. Nevertheless, the kid needs to get it together.

Washington hasn't had a good season.

But, it's not fair to use JuJu as the benchmark.

He was phenomenal as a rookie and it's rare to get that kind of production in year 1.

so far, washington is a bust but i dont think our record would be different if he was producing decent numbers
the problem is what production would you be getting if he wasnt drafted and they took a need position instead there.

The Steelers better hold on to Switzer because he’s the kind of kid that could go to New England and put up a 100 catches right away. Washington on the other hand might want to get used to being buried on the depth chart until further notice.

I watched it again, he did make the catch but the ground jarred it lose. He should have ran through it, but hind-site is 20-20.
