Contract talks are on with Boz

Contract talks are on between the Steelers and kicker Chris Boswell

    http://www.post-gazette.com/sports/s...s/201808050147

Place kicker Chris Boswell and the Steelers have begun negotiations toward a new contract. Boswell said Sunday the talks began last week.

“They probably started at the beginning of the week,” he said. “And they’ve kind of been ongoing since then.”

If Boswell does not sign a long-term deal before the start of the regular season he’ll play this season for $2.9 million on the restricted free agent tender he signed in the spring.

“I’m just going to let it play out,” he said. “I told my agent I don’t really want to hear about it. Just kind of let me kick, and if we get something done, we get something done.”

Boswell has been one of the most consistent kickers in the NFL since he entered the league in 2015. Last season, he made 35 of his 38 field-goal attempts, including all four of his attempts from 50 yards or more.

Right now, Boswell has an 89.5% FG accuracy....this would put him at #2 all time after Justin Tucker...the only reason he isn’t on the list is because he’s only attempted 95 kicks over the last three seasons (min 100 to make the list)...

    He is clutch...

Thanks Slappy. Just jinxed the kid.
Watch him miss 5 in a row so that when he DOES get 100 kicks he is nowhere close to number 2.

If he did, that would put him at #12 all time...ahead of guys like Adam Vinateri, Phil Dawson....and Shaun Suisham

He's so reliable that you almost take him for granted. And that's exactly what you want out of a kicker. Hopefully he gets locked up before the season starts.

At first, I'm like, yawn, who cares!! Then I started recognizing that the way this offense consistently sucks in the red zone, Boswell is probably the offensive MVP, when you truly think about it. PAY THE MAN!

Is this your prediction of what the terms will ultimately be, or do you have some breaking news scoop here?
Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.
