And "raps" don't make folks mad. But rapping about your salary to a fanbase that will never see a fraction of what you earn is just stupid.

Try rapping publicly about your salary demands and see how your colleagues & employer like it.
My colleagues would love it.. my employer would not.

The rap was for the owners and in jest, not for the fans.

I love Bell as a player but have never heard him rap one line for obvious reasons.

Bell just turned that down as part of the Steelers deal...

I think Eich has a point. I've been a rap fan since 85...but Bell a ish as$ rapper talking about squeezing out a few extra million from the Steelers irks even me.

    I ain’t mad at Bell.
But you say the dude ainĀ’t greedy and motivated by ego? Really?

Heck, the rap was ALL about ego and greed.

    Was he having fun? Sure.
Was he expressing his true feeling? He didn’t sign now did he?

You add to the rap his repeated gripping about his ridiculously high salary each season, and comments about his value being that of TWO players. No ego in that guy.

Bell is now shocked that fans see him as a villain?

You quote Dr Martin Luther Seuss (AKA “Common”).

If Bell had an ounce of “Common” sense he would know a segment of the fan base would resent him.

As I said before, no hate here.
Bell is my hero as his greed and ego kept him from signing a great contract (for him) that would hurt our team.

Heck, I KNOW and expect that players have egos.
As much as I hated him when he played, I’d sign that egomaniac Deon Sanders for MORE than we offered Bell in a heartbeat.
    Why?
Elite secondary players are far more valuable in the chase for a ring than elite running backs.
