Giants reportedly looking into trading him. He has performed well below expectations, but he's a former first-round pick who is only 23. If available for a late-round pick, should the Steelers bite? Maybe Munch could make something out of him.

Gilbert has one year left after 2018...he’s also one strike away from a year long suspension, IIRC...

I don't know anything about him as a player. But, trading a late round pick that will probably get cut for a young former first rounder seems like a reasonable thing to try. This is why we meet with guys we don't think we'll have a chance at drafting. Then Tomlin and Colbert have an idea about the player and whether or not they think he's worth something like this.

I usually bet against trades though because they don't usually happen.

We made two last year...The low down on Flowers is he's not a hard worker.

Flowers was a guy that the Steelers interviewed at the combine...Mike Tomlin was also at the Miami Pro Day before Flowers was drafted...I have no idea if there was a Pro Day dinner or not...

Take that for what it's worth...
