    Keion Adams released today.

I had thought he'd showed some promise as a rotational player. Maybe one of the new guys will step up.

I think Adeniyi will rotate with Dupree on the right side while Chickillo primarily backs up T.J. Watt on the left plus we drafted Sutton Smith in the 6th round.

Chickillo, meh. Seemed to be a position we could've upgraded, but we gave him the new contract, so I guess we weren't going to take a serious look at replacing him.

    I did too. Oh well.
From the 2010-2018 season, (An 8 year period that the majority of Cowher's players & coaches had left) Mike Tomlin has only won 3 playoff games. And two of those wins were against back up Quarterbacks. Our history has been defined by what we do in the postseason; not the regular season.

Some perspective for those lamenting the loss of Keion Adams:

He was a 7th round pick who hurt his shoulder in his first training camp and spent his rookie season on I.R.

Then in year 2, he was not able to make the final 53 man roster, even after Ola Adeniyi was placed on I.R. himself.

He was released during final cuts last September, and when he cleared waivers, was added to our practice squad, where he spent the 2018 season.

He signed a futures contract with us after last season, but he has never even spent one day on our active 53 man roster.

He was only ever on our 90 man off-season roster or our 10 man practice squad during the season (when he wasn't on injured reserve, of course).
Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.

On the plus side, it’s good to see them move on from one of the many “experiments” this team has. Hopefully they’ll be more deadweight moved.

I'm surprised to see Adams cut before camp. I read somewhere that the Steelers paid him a league minimum salary last year (as opposed to a practice squad salary) to avoid him getting poached. I would have thought that he would be in the mix to provide competition for Ola and Sutton, even if he didn't ultimately make the team. If he was cut this early, I'm guessing it had to be an issue of health, conditioning or attitude.

I wonder how many said the same thing about James Harrison when we cut him ... multiple times.

Sometimes, if a team knows a player isn't going to make the final 53 + practice squad, they will cut him early, to give him more time to find a spot somewhere else in the league.
