if we 'pay the man', like some fans here keep saying to do for everyone of our players, we wont even be able to put 11 on the field
You just complained 2 days ago about Tomlin forcing a healthy and in his prime Keenan Lewis out the door. Guess who is healthy and in his prime now? David DeCastro.
Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.

if you think there is any correlation between tomlin running lewis out the door and not even offering a mediocre contract and 'fans' wanting to pay every player on the team top money, you are reaching more than usual
steelers = 3 ring circus with tomlin being the head clown

true. sure seems like you should be able to win with that many 'elite' players at multiple positions.

I would argue that the extensions given to Ben, Heyward, and Pouncey over the last few offseasons has been money well spent. Should the Steelers have let one of them walk to re-sign Keenan Lewis instead?

Well then what would you suggest the team do with DeCastro this offseason? With Brown next offseason? With Tuitt the offseason after that? All deserve healthy extensions. With the cap rising (and money like Timmons' $15 million cap hit coming off the books next year), we should be able to afford one big money extension like this each offseason for the next few years.

Bell is not even worth discussing right now, since there are too many question marks. Neither side should be interested in extending him now, because the team isn't going to hand out more guaranteed money to someone who has been so unreliable, and Bell himself wouldn't want to start bargaining when his value is at a low point right now either.

Im with you for the most part. The jury is still out on Pouncey's extension... obviously. Signing Decastro is a no brainer.

    watch out Pouncey!!!!
I lost a bet about Najee gaining 1300 yards.

"Our head coach has failed to win a playoff game for seven years in a row. His game day strategy, culture of divas, in game decisions, clock management, player evaluation, hires, and affinity with sub par starters at RB, P, and OL are holding the Steelers back. That standard remains the standard"

According to Steelers Depot, the NFLPA website that tracks salaries just reported that Marcus Gilbert just restructured his contract and gave the team $2.3M more in cap space.

We may hear something about DeCastro soon

We've seen this line without Decasto and without Pouncey.

This line was quite good without Pouncey. Without Decastro it was not good.
As Decastro goes so does this line.
I never thought Pouncey was worth his coin before the contract, last season he proved me right as the interior offense was FINE without him yet again.
Most rushing touchdowns and highest ypc in Pounceys career...LAST SEASON with him injured featuring an aging backup scatback.

    We need to pay Decastro.

In view of the fact that Mike Tomlin has matched Cowhers record I give him the designation:

    TCFCLTC-
The Coach Formerly Considered Less Than Cowher
