    Ray vs. Gregory

If given the choice (i.e. both were sitting there) who would you prefer?

Who's transgressions do you tend to mitigate. And, how would Peters (the UW CB) fit into that mix. Peters is purported to have a comparable talent, and also brings baggage. Is anyone's baggage not worth carrying at 22?

Personally, I would tend to carry Ray's baggage, if he actually is all that. From what I've seen though, he looks like another Bruce Irvin?

Take them all. Hire an anger management specialist to work with Peters. Hire another specialist to teach Ray and Gregory how to beat the drug tests. Of course, I'm kidding.

My point is to really find out how talented these guys are. Because if Jarvis Jones had these, he'd have been a 4th round pick. But I'd still have Aldon Smith on my team, with all the crap he's done. If either of these guys has 15-sack potential, I'd take them.

I'd rank them Ray, peters, Gregory.

I love them all but Gregory is the one least likely to translate to the pros well considering his small frame

I disagree. I think Gregory is most ready for the pro's comparatively. Watching his play recently has really made me feel even stronger about his readiness. If you throw out the personal stuff Gregory is the best in my opinion.

Why do you think he isnt ready? Nevermind, for some reason I didnt see the small frame comment. Gregory has the technique, the speed and the strength to be successful. He can add a few pounds easily.

Of the three, I'd say Peters would be the one most likely to step in and contribute to the Steelers' D in 2015. I think he could be starting early in the season, and be the best CB on the roster before long...IF he's not a head case.

I think Gregory and Ray could both be tremendous pro players, if they don't love weed more than they do football. I agree with Crazy, I think Gregory's a little more pro-ready than Ray (from an on-field perspective), and I think the Steelers' strength coaches could get him on a program to bulk him up a bit.

When it comes to their talent and potential, I like all of these players a lot. I just don't know about their character. Unless the Steelers are confident about their character, I'll bet they stay away from them (unless they should somehow drop out of the first couple of rounds).

For some reason, the media experts have labeled Gregory as slow off the snap. From everything I know about football, I do not see it that way. He makes his moves off of several different reads which can make it look like he is slow. But take my word for it, or not, the guy is quick when going strictly off the ball.

From what I've watched of both, I prefer Gregory over Ray. And I didn't like Mingo, even though they have similar frames. Gregory seems to use his hands well and he also has exceptional athleticism. I'd probably rank them Gregory - Ray - Peters.

Gregory has bend that you can't teach and he plays with good leverage. But he also has a thin and narrow frame and between him and Ray I'd think he would be more likely to fail as a pass rusher. Might still be a unique SLB like manny Lawson who is great in coverage at 6-6 and fluid in space but can't get after the QB
