    Mock draft, that's who!

Mine was probably too weighted toward players from the western United States. But maybe I'll get lucky and have the Steelers pick one or two of them. Or maybe that wouldn't be lucky for the Steelers. Whatchall think?

You are so far west, we can call you east Asia.
Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.

Gotta give you an A+ for originality. I never even considered Peat in the first. I think I'd consider later round linemen or UDFAs and let our new Oline coach see what more he can get out of Beachum and Adams for now. I personally like Beachum even though he's a little short for the prototypical LT.

I hear you. I'd like to see them go defense early and often...but the Steelers tend to take the top player on their board in round 1. Peat may be that guy when it's their turn.

For many years, they would would alternate between offense and defense in successive years in round 1...but the last two, they've gone D. So maybe they're due to go with an offensive player.

They may be thinking, too, after investing all that $$$$ in Ben, they should put some more $$$$ into protecting that investment. I like Beachbum, too, but Peat could be their franchise LT for years to come...they could slide Kelvin over to RT, where I think he'd be an upgrade over Gilbert (or eventually, they could put him at G if need be).

I'm all for bucking the trend, but is Peat that much better than a guy like Donovan Smith that might be there in the 2nd or 3rd round? I'd rather see us take some guys with potential later in the draft and let Munchak work his magic on those guys.

Now if the next Orlando Pace or Walter Jones is available at our first pick, I say let's go for it

I'm all for trying to find a LG that can pull and a LT with better size, but I don't see those guys with super upside available in the first couple rounds when we pick.

Given that we've got 2 good ball carriers in Bell and Williams that are right handed and probably prefer running right, why not get them a LG that can pull and put some road graders on the right to open some holes? I'm still a little perplexed that our starting OLine from L to R isn't Beachum, DD, Pouncey,Foster, and Adams.

I think Foster and Adams could really blow people off the ball on the right with Pouncey and DD pulling from the left to clean up the garbage and create some monster holes for our backs. And Beachum is a hustle guy that will fight long enough to seal the back edge of the play. In my head, that lineup puts up 300 yards rushing per game with Bell and Williams.

It'll be telling who we pick on the Oline this year.

I too would like to see DD and Foster switch sides. I agree that Adams would be a better run-blocking RT than Gilbert, but I think he's not as good at pass pro, and that's why Gilby is the starter. I don't know that we have a true LT on the roster (although Beachum has exceeded expectations)...I'd like to see the Steelers get that LT, and put Beachum on the other side, where I think he would prove to be a better all-around RT than the other two.

Don't get me wrong, I love Munch, but how much "magic" has he been able to work with Mike Adams, a guy with a load of "potential"?

I think there may be a fair dropoff from Peat to someone like Donovan Smith...but I'll be the first to admit that I'm not the greatest at evaluating talent coming out of college.
