So on top of random drug tests for players, we have these pesky balls breaking the rules....... good grief.

Great so instead of actually punishing the Patriots, the NFL creates yet another rule. Priceless.
This is an attempt to kick the can down the field so the SB can go off with maximum profit.
"We are doing something about it and it will start with the very first game next year."
Crush your enemies, see them driven before you, hear the lamentations of their women.
Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.
Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.
We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.
We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.
If you are holding a football that the ref is squeezing do you have to turn your head and cough?
the NFL continues to fail to understand the issues and how to fix them. The issue here is a team and a mentality that is going to look for every way possible to gain an edge - rules or no rules. random ball checks is just a band-aid to the pats and bellichick/brady. This is likely not the only area where they are out of compliance.
But as far as game balls go - why waste time with random checks. There's a range of specs the game ball is supposed to be at. I don't have a problem if some QB's like'em soft and some like them hard. Let Brady, Rogers, Ben etc prep the game balls however they like. Then deliver them to the officials before gametime to ensure they are still within 'specs'. refs hold on to the balls until kickoff. they spot check a few a halftime and after the game.
but goodell will likely overkill and install a new VP of balls.
2014 MNF EXEC CHAMPION!!!
Not that there's anything wrong with that.A new VP of balls
