Speed freakin kills and these two have it in abundance, they remind me of the LBs from the Jimmy Johnson U of Miami teams, speed in excess and no one could block them.

I dont think so, he still looks very much like a linebacker out there.

I was wondering if he would look like a LB or a safety when the pads went on. He still looks like hes in the 230s

by Peter King in his MMQB Column:

The Steelers may have found a perfect Dick LeBeau linebacker. To be a complete linebacker in the Steelers’ defense, it’s vital to be able to drop and cover. Pittsburgh’s first-round pick, Ohio State linebacker Ryan Shazier, showed that skill Saturday night against Buffalo. He dropped with tight end Scott Chandler, ran with him, and turned to catch an interception from quarterback E.J. Manuel in the first half. Instinctive play. Shazier was the best Steelers defender on the field Saturday night overall, recording nine tackles and two more special-teams stops. The Steelers have four highly drafted linebackers 28 or younger slated to start—from left to right, Jason Worilds, Shazier, Lawrence Timmons and Jarvis Jones—and Shazier gives them hope it can be the kind of complete group the Steelers have been lacking.

I just hope fans don't start hating on Shazier when he makes mistakes, because he is going to make them, the good news is that he's incredibly fast and may be able to run around some of his mistakes. But, make no mistake, he will make mistakes and plenty of them.

If you asked Shazier about his performance my guess is the first thing out of his mouth would be his displeasure with the completion, slip and then 24 yard gain on 3rd and 27 rather than any of his good plays and that's a good thing.

lol im sure shazier will be a bust to some by years end....just like timmons and jarvis

Right now hes gaining high praise, not just from us but anyone who saw the game. If you asked anyone who is the early favorite for DROY it would be Clowney or Shaizer
