Archer > Reggie Bush

No, Dri won't run between the tackles as often as Reggie does (which isn't much but he does on occasion), but I feel Dri might have a more productive career than Bush has. I think he will make a higher # of splash plays than Bush. Reggie has had a decent career, but not to the level of his hype coming out of the draft. Dri has such sick speed, it makes Bush look slow my comparison.

ccbI wanna see what Archer can bring yes. But lets not get too carried away. There have been many dudes Archer's size with even better speed who were Busts, or did very very little. Archer didn't even do much against proven teams in college yet. So he still has to show me something. I still think his best atribute will be as a punt returner....if he can learn to do it.

But it's not just about speed. Sure, endless track guys ended up not able to play football, but Dri has vision, balance and instincts to go along with his speed; huge difference. Also, being able to jack up 225 20 times tells me he isn't frail, even though small. Also, Haley is all about finding ways to use speed, even when without size. He is the perfect OC to work with DA. I am excited.

He makes Reggie Bush look slow? I wouldn't go that far. Reggie Bush ran a 4.33 during his pro day. The Steelers said Archer ran a 4.3 at his pro day. .03 of a second doesn't make someone look "slow". I'm not trying to rain on your parade but let's see Archer play 1 down in the NFL before we compare him to Reggie Bush. Yes, Bush might have been a slight disappointment considering where he was drafted but he's a hell of an offensive weapon especially in the Detroit offense where they throw to him. In college, Bush made some top tier talent look stupid.

Let me answer that for you because I was pretty sure you were talking out your a**. The only guy faster than Archer since electronic timing back in 2000 is Chris Johnson. And I believe he had a pretty good career. Archer is one fast mofo. http://www.statisticbrain.com/fastest-40-yard-dash-times-in-nfl-history/

I dont know about all that. Bush could have been a WR too if he wanted to be. People harp on him because he wasnt berry sanders like he was supposed to be but hes a very good back. He has like a 600 pound squat and 400+ pound bench, occasionally he decided to use that power along with his great speed and unreal open field ability

fwiw Noel Devine ran a 4.26 and is pound of pound one of the strongest humans ive ever seen (5-8 175) and he didnt stick on.

I brought him up because for HS tape Bush and Devine are the best Ive ever seen

I will agree with you K...I followed Devine in HS and college. Guy was a freak. Didn't stick. But, where are you getting his 40 time? It wasn't the NFL combine which is the only 40 time I refer to. Speed kills, and while it doesn't mean a guy who is freak fast is certainly going to make it...it's a major advantage. Guys like Dri don't come around as often as "truthteller" wants us to believe. Archer is the second fastest guy who has entered into the NFL in the last 14 years. He is one of the fastest, probably top 10 to ever enter the NFL. I don't compare the 40 times from before electronic timing for obvious reasons...human error...but I would say he is likely faster than many who timed faster by human hand. The last time I seen a guy as fast as Dri was Chris Johnson...and we know how that worked out.

So, while you can't say a guy will make it with any certainty, speed is indeed the one quality you can't teach. You combine that kind of speed, with that kind of acceleration, hands, vision, etc...and you have a steal in the making even if he only touches the ball 10 times a game.

It was a 4.25 and 4.26 at WVUs pro day i believe...unofficial rankings aside, the guy was fast as all hell. He had a very thug life attitude and ended up quitting on the eagles, which was a shame because some of his abilities were unreal.

When we are talking in the high 4.2s and low 4.3s we arent talking about much of a difference, especially in pads. Guys like Jeff Demps, Trindon Holliday, Desean Jackson, Tavon Austin, Noel Devine, Marquise Goodwin...ect as football players are very different. All this guys are tiny btw <200 pounds, some by a lot, I left out guy like Chirs Johnson, DHB, Mike Wallce, Patrick Peterson, Taylor Mays, Reggie Bush, Darren McFadden, Laron Landry, Tavon Branch, Justin King, Rodgers-Cromartie, ect.....all guys that are generally bigger or at least taller or at least non ball carriers like Demarcus Van Dyke and Buster Skine as well

That first list i showed is 3 WRs (Goodwin, Tavon, Jackson), and essentially zero RBs as Devine Quit, Demps chose track, and Trindon is strictly a kick return specialist. We need to see how Dri holds up, he is well put together but still tiny. Guys like Jackson never get hit, but the one or two times he did he was killed. Hes fast, but the odds are really stacked against him in being able to withstand much punishment. Regardles of his 40 time i hope he is SKILLED enough to be a return man. Devin Hester ran a 4.41 40, which isnt even in the top 20 as far as fastest players in the league, but there was a time when he was WIDELY considered the fastest because of his insane return ability. If he can be more than that and get some catches or carries, then this is going to be a great pick...im just cautious with the optimism on him

We want that scat back though....Baron Batch, Chris Rainey, Stephens-Howling, Felix Jones...they want someone to stick in this role

I thought I read DA was timed at 4.2?

Any how, I am talking more about actual football speed. Bush is fast, without any doubt. But I just have never seen him look this fast. Dri can pop dat thang. Reggie just kind of semi pops it.

Watch the 2 min. mark. In hindsight, I think Bush is more of a 2-3rd round talent.

This vid has one of the best jams of all time.
