    Steelers sign CB

    http://bleacherreport.com/tb/ddaWm?u...burgh-steelers

I don't know a whole lot about him, but I recognize the name. It's probably the kind of signing that's not worth discussing much, because he mostly likely won't be on the roster opening day. But, you got to do due diligence, and that CB unit needs more depth.

Board favoriate Ember-Nasty is also gone:

Steelers make several roster moves during OTAs.
The Steelers signed rookie free agent offensive lineman Emmanuel McCray and claimed cornerback Deion Belue off waivers from the Miami Dolphins, the team announced today.

McCray (6-5, 316) signed with the St. Louis Rams as an undrafted rookie free agent out of the University of Mississippi on May 12, 2014. He was released by the Rams on May 15, 2014.

Belue (5-11, 182) signed with the Miami Dolphins as an undrafted rookie free agent out of the University of Alabama on May 12, 2014. He was waived by the Dolphins on May 25, 2014.

To make room on the roster, the Steelers released two offensive linemen, Nik Embernate and Kaycee Ike.

OMG, we are doomed without EMber!

He might compete for a spot on the practice squad, but he looks to be primarily a camp body. Decent speed, but not a good tackler.

Nik Embernate failed his physical so he will revert back to PUP if unclaimed. Maybe Steelers IR him once available or come to injury settlement. Since they got a look at some players & we are watching the waiver wires...Bring in OLB Morgan Breslin...49ers waiver him.
    Draft:
    Trade Down

1st Eli Harold OLB / Kevin Johnson CB
2nd PJ Williams CB / Danielle Hunter OLB

    3a Jesse James TE
    3b Eric Rowe DB
    4th Lorenzo Mauldin OLB
    5th Karlos Williams RB
    6th Ray Drew DE
    7a DaVaris Daniels WR
    7b Max Garcia OL

because Embernate was hurt last season and the Steelers carried him throughout the season and paid him, they did not have to reach an injury settlement before releasing him.
