Why does this team not prioritize the CB position?

It just boggles my mind; they always go for bargain basement picks to find CBs. They hit once in a while, but they fail more than they find diamonds in the ruff. Why? What is their obsession with refusing to use any higher picks on CBs? They did it again this year, passing on some quality CBs to instead take undersized ILB and RB. It is seriously insane. Are they out to prove some kind of point or something? I don't get it. In the NFL these days, you need a solid collection of DBs or you will be shredded. But if you are strong at DB, you win rings. See Seattle. But this team just keeps ignoring the position as if it doesn't matter. That is cracked.

Before Ovi comes in, I'll take the preemptive shot...5th rounders can play 10-15 yards off the ball just as well as 1st rounders can.
Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.

EXACTLY. Sick Beats is totally Clueless. Both Sherman and Maxwell were very LATE draft picks. A 5th and a 6th round picks. So how can he use them as an example when we just TOOK our Sherman in round 5 ???

    Nice try Beats....try again

Seattle's collective backfield is outstanding, including high draft pick safeties.Yea, they lucked out with Sherman, but they found a way to end up with high quality DBs. Pgh seems out to prove that they NEVER need to draft CBs high and it is foolish. We just took a C when we already have TWO on the roster who can get the job done. Why are they REFUSING to draft CBs? This is madness.

Why are we REFUSING to draft CBs? We haven't drafted a CB in about 40 minutes, dammit!!!

You know what's really funny about that statement ?...in 2004, Bill Cowher didn't even want Ben Roethlisberger. He was in charge of the draft, and he DESPERATELY wanted " Dunta Robinson "...CB from South Carolina. But, Jacksonville was asking too much to jump the Texans who were at 10 right before us, and everyone knew they loved Robinson, so after they selected him, Cowher, frustrated told Colbert...fine, draft the kid I don't care...talking about Roethlisberger.

And how did that turn out for us ?..and how did it turn out for Houston ?...( LOL )
