57 Picks Until A RB Selected

What do you guys think about the RBs falling off the cliff? Is this just a 1 year thing with all the talent in this draft? or is it a trend?

Almost all teams are using running back by committee, rather than a work horse style RB, so that diminishes the need for a great back and then you have the love fest to pass the football, so that diminishes the usefulness of a RB, I don't think its a one anomaly, I think it will be the trend.

Why would a team use a premium pick on a player that will split duties with another player, it's similar to job sharing in the world we all live in, where two people do one job and each works 20 hours a week, you pay two people the salary of one and split the duties. That's what RBs have become, this will remain a trend.

Maybe another factor is that the workhorse who has 25-30 carries a game is an injury waiting to happen.

Definitely, but none the less, it is contributing to the RB position dropping in stock, it also didn't help that there really weren't any "wow" kind of backs in the draft.
