Ray Lewis dropped in his draft for Character Issues. Obviously you don't remember. It was never because of his on the field skills or Athleticism. Ray was arrested twice while at Miami, and suspended for 2 games another time. That is why he dropped.

The one thing Shazier has over Mosely is that Shazier is a every down LB. He does not have to come off the field on any situation. Mosely was terrible as a pass defender. And was destroyed several times last season. Take a look at what Manziel did to him for starters. I think Shazier's pure speed and Insticnts won Colbert and Tomlin over.

Shazier is a 'run & hit' LB. It makes sense if that's what Tomlin wants from his LB's.

Being a 'slight' type of LB, I'd suggest some beef in the front 3 might also be targetted. It'll be interesting to see if they jump on Louis Nix if he's there...

I think the Steelers board had Fuller then Shazier. Once Fuller gone they must have really wanted Shazier because they did not take much time so weren't entertaining trades.

It took the Steelers more time than what you think compared to previous years such as last when they drafted JJ. They wanted to trade down this year and no one was stupid enough to do it.... that is why they had to reach for someone like Shazier.

I know this much, Timmons, Polomalu, and Shazier, are freaky football fast. This defense is going to be exiting to watch.
