Donald is purely a 4-3 player. How would he fit in a 3-4? I don't see it.

Compare Donald's combine performance to that of Chris Borland, an ILB who should come off the board on day two. In spite of an almost 40 lbs. difference in weight, Donald had a better 40 time than Borland (4.68 vs. 4.83), better bench (35 vs. 27), better vertical jump (32 vs. 31), better broad jump (116 vs. 114), and better 3 cone (7.11 vs. 7.18). Very few big men are athletic to do the things that Kirkland did once upon a time, but I think Donald is one of those types of guys that are an exception.
Sounds like a bigger, more athletic Mike Kudla...

It's easy to see if you can look past the LeBeau template and think about innovative solutions to our defensive problems.

Maybe he can then produce in the final year of his rookie contract so we can "tag" him at a rate of $9M per year?

How about we mandate that our Hall of Fame, "genius" defensive coordinator find a way to use him? Radical thought I know.
So are you going to answer my question? Which #1 draft pick sat on the bench until his last year only to be tag?

The second sentence was reference to 2d round pick Worilds. I apologize for less than cogent sentence structure, but the point of waiting until late in their rookie contracts to see them on the field is still appropriate complaint.

Worilds played in 14 games his rookie year...

He played in 12 games his second year, starting 7...

He played in 16 games his third year, starting 3...

He had ample opportunity to prove himself...unfortunately, it didn't click until his contract year...
