Landry Jones had a good practice today. Ball out quick and had zip on his passes. Nice work.

I'm sure we'll get to see where he's at Saturday against the Giants. He should get some 4th quarter action.

The Steelers should try to get Mike Reilly back on the roster. Apparently he's found himself a nice career up there in the CFL. For those who don't remember him, he was the QB from Central Washington that Ron Jaworski had a man-crush on and who also once boldly compared him to Tom Brady.

In view of the fact that Mike Tomlin has matched Cowhers record I give him the designation:

The reviews on Landry Jones are still not good:
Quarterbacks (3): The first two are easy. After that, it's a battle between Landy Jones and rookie Brendon Kay. Kay has looked better than Jones, a 2013, fourth-round draft pick, but that might not mean he wins the roster spot. Jones might get a second year on scholarship before the team pulls the plug on him.

I never had a problem with drafting a backup qb, but I thought then that Jones was the wrong guy. I've been hoping that he will prove me wrong, but I've yet to see much to indicate that he will.

    * Landry Jones was the quarterback who followed Ben Roethlisberger onto the field. On his first attempt, Jones threw into double coverage in an attempt to get the ball to Lance Moore over the middle, and CB Nickell Roby intercepted for the Bills.

    * Landry Jones’ second turnover of the night, a lost fumble following a sack/strip by DT Stefan Charles. Defensive tackle Landon Cohen recovered the fumble and ran it 59 yards to the Pittsburgh 16-yard line. From there, the Bills scored the touchdown that tied the game, 13-13, which is how it was entering the fourth quarter.

It wasn't pretty for either backup last night. The offensive line are the most important players on this team right now; they have to keep Ben upright and able to make plays form the pocket without having to run or create on the fly. Jones and Gradkowski both might be looking for employment. I can't see the Steelers keeping three quarterbacks.

I don't know who's on the QB trash heap, but the Steelers might want to send someone to take a look. I really thought Jones would be a good backup for the Steelers, it doesn't appear that he's able to steady himself when under pressure (which was on every drop back).
