Hes become a blocking TE, and a really really good one at that. Not the dynamic threat they were hoping for though

Yes, in the first round in 09 I believe when they drafted stafford. He was supposed to be one of the big time receiver TEs but really just developed into a dominant blocker while the lions were having oline troubles. Hes a good player, but frustrating in the passing game, not sure this would make them pass on Ebron or Evans

With the signing of Tate and now Pettigrew (regardless of being a blocking TE), I just don't see the Lions drafting Ebron and/or Evans. Offense, especially at the skill positions, is NOT their problem.... They are a good defense away from being a SB contender. They should be "all in" on defense at this point especially in the secondary.

Then again... we are talking about the Detroit Lions

Does Matt Millen have anything to do with their draft? (I'm hoping)

Might they fall in love with a pass rusher like Barr? They have top notch D-Line talent but their linebackers are lacking.

I could still see them taking a WR or TE... didn't they take a ton of them in the first round for many years. NOW, imagine if Tate was in a battle this year for #2 with Evans. That's actually a good thing for them.

Frankly, hoping THEY take Ebron. I think considering him for the Steelers is a joke. I'd probably vomit...

There's always a mid-to-late-round pass-catching TE available (Fauria last year, for example, was a no brainer to me).

Since Vernon Davis (2006), the top most hyped TE taken has been, "bleh", but, there are as good, if not better guys further down in the draft:

2007 Greg Olsen top TE... but, you coulda had Kevin Boss in the 5th
2008 Dustin Keller... But, you coulda had Jermichael Finley in the 3rd
2009 Brandon Pettigrew... But, you coulda had Zach Miller in the 6th
2010 Jermaine Gresham... But, you coulda had Gronk (2nd), Graham (3rd), Pitta (4th)
2011 Kyle Rudolph... But... Jordan Cameron, Julius Thomas (both 4th), Charles Clay (6th)
2012 Coby Fleener... and a sucky overall batch
2013 Eifert... Ertz(2nd), Jordan Reed (3rd), Dion Sims(4th) and of course Fauria
    2013 MNF Executive Champion!

4.117 - Jordan Travis, QB, FSU
6.178 -Travis Glover, OT, Ga State
