IMO, they'll resign Keisel to a one year deal. They're looking mighty thin on the DL.

I hope so.. Keisel can serve in the same capacity as ike in the secondary... a one year "Bridge" type player.. to help transition over to the young guys.

2 years 5 mil? We couldn't match that?
Even if Bill Belichick was getting an atomic wedgie, his face would look exactly the same.

That was also my first thought. The Steelers are obviously going in another direction because they could have easily matched.

I'm sure that's it. He just didn't want to play for the Steelers. They probably offered him 3x as much, but he took a huge paycut to go to Tennessee.

...For real this time. Al Woods joins former Steelers defensive backs coach turned defensive coordinator Ray Horton in Tennessee.

    Jim Wyatt @jwyattsports:

It's a two-year, $5 million deal for defensive lineman Al Woods and the #Titans

    4:14 PM - 12 Mar 2014

After one initial false alarm (or someone not realizing Woods didn't in fact sign the contract he was given until his plane was already in the air), the Tennessee Titans and Al Woods officially came to terms on a contract that will put Woods under former Steelers coaches Ken Whisenhunt and Ray Horton.

There was something of a discrepancy with the initial report, which came Wednesday afternoon. Multiple media members confirmed the news by Wednesday evening.

This is the first alarming free agency loss the Steelers have suffered. Woods looked to be one of the more reasonable re-signs the Steelers could have had this offseason. Veteran defensive ends Brett Keisel and Ziggy Hood are also free agents, meaning the Steelers currently have one defensive end, Cameron Heyward, who's played more than two NFL games.

The lack of depth is a concern, and likely means the Steelers will be signing another free agent at some point.

Maybe even Hood or Keisel. Or both.

Steel Maniac's Time-Based Prediction: Lamar Jackson will be a bust and total flop in the NFL.

What Actually Happened: Lamar Jackson became the youngest two-time NFL MVP winner ever.
