austin played 16 games in 2009 and 2010. in fact he signed a 6 year big money extension in sept of 2010. dez was drafted in april of that year
Fair enough... I was off by a year with his hammy injuries.

But how many playoff wins did it get them? How many playoff appearances?

If Denard or Gilbert are both gone then I am all for Ebron and then going primarily Defense the rest of the draft.

the problem is does a DB come in and make a big difference. especially under DL's system. and do we need to spend a 15 overall on a guy to play 10 yards off of line of scrimmage?

they have had trouble with forcing turnovers the last few years.

what if the offense improved to a point where they actually had (say) a 2 TD lead. how much have we seen of that lately? i'll bet ya we gotten a lot more turnovers when we are up by that much

the front 7 is loaded with top picks and high priced players.

certainly enough talent to get the job done IMO

the secondary outside of troy (who himself is almost done) is below average at best
No... we paid Woodley and Timmons. The rest of our front 7 isn't high priced nor have they shown they can stop the run except for Heyward.

While they are not all 'high paid', the price paid for the Front 7 is- 4 1st round selections, 2 2nd round selections if you include Worilds. Keisel has been paid well for a while. McLendon & Foote are paid like starters. Only Vince Williams comes at no real cost. There is as much investment into the Defensive Front 7 as there is the Offensive Front 7.
    Schiavone's Race Career:

    Starts- 9
    Wins- 1
    2nd- 4
    3rd- 0
    Other- 4

    Prizemoney- $28,050.00

    high priced and/or top picks

woodley, timmons were both high priced and high picks.

worldis, JJ, hood, heyward were high picks. top assets used by the team

I don't think a DB comes in and has an immediate impact... this is why I prefer NT or LB.

I've watched this D give up 55 points last year. We gave up historic numbers on D. 14 point leads are nothing in todays NFL if you have a bad D.

Dallas was up 26 to 3 at halftime and lost to GB.

A lot...and most times it was when we were going to SB's and the playoffs.

...and the offensive front 7 is starting to gel. The D could lose Keisel, Hood, Worilds... doesn't make sense to ignore it because we missed on a few picks.
