I think that salary is one of the biggest drivers in the formula. Wallace started every game and had 900+ yards receiving. Not great, but when combined with the outrageous salary, I bet it returns a third round comp pick.

Salary is the driving force behind compensation draft picks. It's why the Patophiles are always able to score high comps because exiting players are routinely overpaid by the teams that sign them. My guess is that we will get three comps for Wally (who should fetch a 3d), Keenan (who will fetch at least a 5th, if not a 4th) and Mendy (who will probably only fetch a 6th or 7th)

It doesn't matter what his production is. It's about the contract he received from his new team in relation with where he was originally drafted. We might not get a high comp. But I bet we'll get one anyway.

    Salary is the #1 factor...

Salary is a key factor, but, performance also comes into play... wouldn't be terribly shocked if Wallace was only a 4th...

    This is from the NFL:

The compensatory picks [are] positioned within the third through seventh rounds based on the value of the compensatory free agents lost. Compensatory free agents are determined by a formula based on salary, playing time and postseason honors.
