tomlin should do himself a favor and resign

he doesnt need all this abuse. he should be allowed to quit this team, handpick his new one and then hire, fire, draft and sign whoever he wants.
the tomlin supporters should want this to happen as well. tomlin is such a great coach and he is being handcuffed with bad players, bad coaches, bad cap numbers, no fa's etc etc.
he needs to be set free so he can really run a team the way other head coaches are allowed too.
tomlin is doing himself an unjustice by staying with the steelers..............it isnt fair to mike.

That makes the assumption that Mike Tomlin actually wants that level of responsibility.

If Bill Cowher was forced to do some of the things that Tomlin has apparently been forced to do, he would've been gone long ago. That leads me to believe that Tomlin IS or at least HAS BEEn satisfied with his current role.

You are right, in that he would be able to write his ticket. The notion of him being a great coach hasn't gone away. He could easily pull a Phil Jackson (hitch his wagon to great players, and cement a legacy). Just find a cupboard like he did 7 years ago with the Steelers, and enjoy another nice run... until he gets exposed again. Then, ride off into the sunset and live off those ill-gotten laurels.

Maybe we could trade him for a bunch of draft picks?

the real beauty in it would be that tomlin wouldn't have a say in who we picked

    Very good point.
Tomlin: Let's unleash hell and "mop the floor" with the competition.

He took over an 8-8 team 7 years ago...Cowher went through the exact same thing...

Not the same thing. Our responsible (sarcasm) QB did a face plant onto a cars windshield right before the season.

That 8-8 team also started off 2-6 with Cowher at the helm as well.
