Exactly. We used to let players walk when they reached 30 because we always had something waiting in the wings. Tomlin has had to cling onto all of these guys because he hasn't been able to develop anybody.

Finally, someone getting to the cause, rather than trying to treat symptoms.

Let's see, an offensive line with players like Beachum, Whimper, Adams, Gilbert, Cody freaking Wallace..... and you are expecting them to hold off an NFL defense??

Also mentioned on the radio this am that maybe, just maybe, the new CBA is contributing to the poor play. There are strict guidelines on hours of practice, film room, and contact. Everyone knows it's about reps and hitting to develop a player, but teams are now limited on how much they can do.

On defense, same thing, the defensive line sucks and it impacts everything else the Steelers typically like to do. But, don't think for one minute a single stud draft pick can't turn things completely around. Look no further than the Bengals and Geno Atkins. Take him away, and that defense is ordinary.

Sure, I am down on Tomlin for certain things, like clock management, but this team was a winner with him so it's not like he has unlearned how he got there.

We are seeing how well Tomlin can build a team and it sucks. Saying he was a winner before means nothing because any moron could've been successful in that situation.

As far as the o-line goes... What about Urbik? That wasn't a failed pick. That was a failure in coaching and our coaches ability in evaluating talent on the roster. Legursky wasn't a failure either. Pouncey wasn't a failed pick. Neither was DeCastro. Colon (whom I'm NOT a fan of) wasn't necessarily a bust either. He's still a starting OG in this league.

Point being, these are not misses by Colbert. It's simply inaccurate.
