Has FO made a move to replace Levi Brown?

Of all the things we've spoken about here, getting a decent left tackle/another at least minimally competent warm body to protect Ben is the most essential part of our making the post-season. We *need to plan on someone going down. Our backup will be ... ?? Whimper, Adams ... we're going nowhere.

I've been out of touch for a day or so ... anyone hear anything?

Can the new corner also play LT? "Well he has some size issues but he has quick feet and man is he fast for an offensive lineman, has great balance......"

..and this is why I don't have faith we will draft a LT in the first round.

    I disagree.

Bringing in an OT off the street midseason is not as reliable as drafting...

I mean, if that OT was significantly better than what you had on your roster, why is he still on the street at this point?

On the other hand, drafting a premium LT in the first round is a different proposition altogether...

Sure, they crossed his name off the active roster.

Hard for me to believe there isn't a free-agent LT out there who would be a better option right now than Beachum, Whimper or Adams. But if not, there's demand for Manny Sanders...maybe we could swap him for a serviceable tackle.

IMO, doing nothing is almost an admission that you're throwing in the towel for this season...

Well, Starks is still available. I still don't see the harm in bringing him back for depth reasons. He knows the offense, has played LT with Ben as his QB for several years. He would be extremely cheap. What's the risk? None, IMO.
