That wasn't even a hurdle...Just the gun at the start of the race. First hurdle in sight is the Ravens. Let's put it this way. How many times have you watched a race and seen someone fall on the first hurdle and still win? That's the Ravens game. They can not lose any divisional games. They may have to win the Division to get in the playoffs. They won't be leap frogging anyone for the lead. They will be trailing all season and they will need head to head & division record to get there. Every Division game starting now should be viewed as a playoff game. That is the only way the can regain the ability to control their own destiny. Strap them up boys...PLAYOFF TIME!

5-1 is possible in this years AFCN.
It's possible, but not likely. There is a lot of parity in the North. The Bengals are viewed to be the most talented team in the division, but they could end up on the bottom of the barrel just as easily as anyone. If the Steelers were able to win the remainder of their home games and all the division games, they would be in good shape. If a frog had wings...
Got to beat the teams you play but the Steelers struggled mightily to score TD's and beat a rookie QB who returned to his turnover happy ways yesterday. They've got a long way to go to compete with the truely talented teams in the league (that Vikings loss is looking much worse today). In the immortal words of The Wolf from Pulp Fiction - "Well, let's not start sucking each other's d*cks quite yet."
You have to start somewhere. Yesterday was a good start. The team not only got the win, but a couple of those "splash" plays on both sides of the ball. The next game is a big one- at home against the defending champs and archrivals. The Ravens are another mediocre team this year, but they will be inspired not only to play the Steelers but also after a disappointing outing yesterday. They don't want to find themselves in the AFCN basement with us.
There is potential to build something with this team, but it's going to be a week-by-week process.
bull... it' basically takes sweeping the 5 division games... then playing on par with the rest of the division for the remainder.
in other words, if our 4-loss Steelers sweeps the 3-loss ravens, they suddenly have 5 losses... if the ravens go .500, we need to do the same on our 6 non-division games
at this point, it's still possible to win this divsion at 8-8... just sayin'
