Hated Bradshaw too. Only when the 1980's happened did they appreciate him.
People were frustrated by the young HORRIBLE Bradshaw. Rightly so.
Steeler fans ADORED the late 70s version who was a great player.

They'll be crying for Ben 10 minutes after he's done. And don't tell me about Ben's accusations either. The only crime Ben's guilty of is that he's from Ohio.
Oh PLUUEESE. Most Steeler fans LOVE Ben. It is a rare one (maybe 1 in 15) that hate on him either as a player or for his supposed conduct. Fans of OTHER TEAMS bring that stuff up.
You confuse a desire for Ben to play to his proven ability with "hate".
Ben leads DIRECTLY to 2 touchdowns.....for the other team?.......HE needs to be better than that.
Any rational fan can see that.

    Charlie Batch is living proof.
Nobody has EVER wanted Batch over Ben for any reason least of which is being a hometown boy.
Batch nevertheless has been a popular backup.
Why do people like Batch as a person?

I dont know but there is something.

Ask BEN, he is number one in the Charlie Batch fan club.

In view of the fact that Mike Tomlin has matched Cowhers record I give him the designation:

    TCFCLTC-
The Coach Formerly Considered Less Than Cowher

Did you see Cutler last night? That's what Ben needs to do. Make the blitz useless.. back the line backers out of the blitz... then try to establish the run.. use the play action.. etc.

Crash, I love having Ben Roethlisberger on the team...

But, you can't discount the accusations. You can't.

When you start to type "Ben Roethlisberger" into a Google search, two of the top four suggestions presented by Google are "Ben Roethlisberger rape" and "Ben Roethlisberger car accident"...

Personally, I've decided to give him the benefit of a doubt, but not everyone is inclined to do so...

Pretending it never happened isn't realistic...

Only in Pittsburgh do fans say these things about a QB who has led their team to 2 Super Bowl wins. This has never ever happened anywhere else. Only in Pittsburgh.
Why do people use TEAM goals when comparing two qbs? Cam doesnt play for the Steelers. He plays for a WORSE team. So comparing records is not exactly fair. However, comparing individual statistics is how you compare two qbs. Now if you want to compare Steelers vs Panthers then of course record comes into play.

Do you care to compare Cams 1st 3 years to Bens last 3 years? Or Bens 1st three? You will see that Cam Newton has better stats than Ben does because you cant ingrore his rushing. This should not be the case. Ben is a 11 year vet and no way should the likes of Cam Newton be this close to him statistically. Yesterday, The Panthers beat the Giants 38-0. Ben played the Giants in 08 and turned the ball over 5 times vs them. How come Ben doesnt light up defenses? EVER??? Green Bay of 09? Ben hasnt led the Steelers to a 40 point output 5 times in his career (just guessing) but I see a rookie like Wilson (Sea) did it like four times as a rookie. Why isnt our qb putting up all these points like the rest of the 100 million guys or even the new slingers? Why? (Enter excuse)

Ben DIDNT lead us to 2 SB wins. In fact Ben had 1 TD AND 3 INTS in those 2 SB wins. That is HARDLY LEADING. Oh by the way, Ben has 20 Tds and 17 Ints while the STEELERS have led him to a 10-3 playoff record. The only time Ben led the Steelers was in 05 (Bengals, Colts, Broncos). Other than that he has been along for the ride.

He did last season. Now teams have film. Now teams pick up tendencies.

As is often said when our "vaunted defense" gets torched. The other team gets paid too.
Is that what we pay Ben to do? Manning, Brees, Rodgers, Brady etc have no problem bailing their team out on 3rd etc. Ben has thrown for 30 TDS once in his career. Who do you blame for that? The line? Haley wasnt there most of his career, Wiz? Arians? Tomlin? Cowher? who????

Ben isn't a stat padder. In fact, He threw 26 TDs in 2009. He threw 26 TDs in 13 games last year. Two of his three highest TD years, they missed the playoffs.

When they get leads they run the ball. Thus, it hurts his totals.

Cutler is coachable. Ben isnt. Cutler is listening to his OC and making quick reads and qetting the ball out. Ben did that all year last year and looked great. Along comes the chiefs and Ben decides to go back to old Ben and runs around for days and gets hurt. Haley knows what he is doing, Ben shoud listen
