The obvious lack of sacks and turnovers is absolute torment to watch anymore.

You're wasting keystrokes on the Lebeau is old, the game has passed him by, he's not innovative any longer group. The defense needs to score points or put the offense on the opponents 20 yard line every time, 3 and outs aren't good enough, you have to score for the offense and then the defense is good, otherwise they suck.

this defense just lacks overall playmakers.....it's not the "scheme" ...if Clay Mathews, Patrick Willis, Richard Sherman & Aldon Smith were in this "scheme" I highly doubt we'd be talking about "schemes"

Ruthless--the point you make is exactly the problem with LeBeau. He DOESN'T have those players but he still wants to put the same template defense out there versus adjusting to the players he DOES have and putting them in position to maximize their abilities. He is too in love with his creation and wants to put whatever sqare pegs he has into the round holes he has created.
Waiting for a few years wishing and hoping you get the combination of just the right players that LeBeau wants is a recipe for disaster. You play and win with who you have on the roster not who you would like to have.

One thing that was evident which means the Steelers made the right decision about James Harrison, he isn't a 4-3 linebacker and he's got very little left in the tank. I wouldn't be surprised to see him retire before the end of the season.

What shoud Lebeau have done differently last night? Cam Heyward has progressed, and Lebeau put him in a situation to rush the passer. He didn't get a sack, but he got pressure. They used some creative stunts with a four man rush. AJ Green was, once again, a non-factor.
Jones was inches from a sack fumble. A few of those batted balls bounce differently, and the Steelers end up with a pick.
Well, the defense didn't do what the offense is supposed to do, score points, so, they were bad as well last night. It matters none that they were on the field for about 30 more plays than the Cincinnati defense (which is about 1/2 of a game, in other words they played a game and half last night), while the offense played barely 2/3 of a game. You can't win in the NFL with your defense on the field that long. Some of it was their own doing, they gave up a couple long drives, but that happens. Too many three and outs from the offense.
