Bell out another month - Lisfranc injury

Bell has a rare midfoot sprain that's being classified as a Lisfranc injury, a source told the Tribune-Review on Wednesday morning, and the team is now hoping to have him return in about a month.

Absolutely unbelievable, I had a bad feeling about injury when it occurred.

I am one that call BS, I read the article as a unknown source reported it and then I read the article on the NFL mobile app and it says that Bell is only jogging. Now if it was the Lisfranc why would the boot already be removed and why would he be jogging. By no means am I a Dr. BUT this sounds fishy, maybe a Ed B story.

ESPN is saying the same thing. I would love to see him play, but unless our oline starts putting it together, it wont matter who is running behind it.

Didn't Tomlin say definitely at one time he did NOT?

Anyway, here's a doctor's take on the LF injury here: http://www.planetsteelers.com/forums/showthread.php/41161-A-doctor-s-take-on-Bell-LisFranc-injury

So it was a LisFranc sprain. I will tell you what...If bell doesn't come back before week 8 they made a bad decision here. They had MANY injuries to deal with before week 1. Now they have significantly more. So how long can you stack walking wounded before it doesn't impact your team or get more wounded. They should have IR'd Spaeth, Gave Bell the designation to return tag and signed a TE to help this offense. Paulson, D Johnson, & Palmer's blocking was...Alarming week 1. That is the best word for it. They should have written off Spaeth so they had a way to get say a Davis or Ballard in here. If Miller doesn't see the field before the bye and is 100%...It may get even uglier than it is.

    That is hard to fathom.

This is no shock to me. Im not counting on Bell at all this year. He is a rookie. By the time he comes back he wont be physically or mentally ready to just jump in there and play.

See the article even says the player would require a boot or cast even if it's a mild Lisfranc, that's why I call BS.

We all know Pap...As the "weight" of the "L's" pile up...It will get ugly. They are headed for a Top 10 pick if they don't right this shipwreck. What is compounding it is the decisions made as the season opened and the position it put them in with all the injuries that happened. This is what we call the "quicksand" effect....And it may exist on the sideline & filter up to the FO.
