BTW I say bring Max in for sure. We have so little depth we may only keep 8 lineman. Theres no way all 5 of our starters will be healthy all season. Having Beachum backup all 5 positions dont work too well if 2 guys get injured.

for veteran minimum and as a back up/swing tackle, it would be stupid not to bring him back.. good insurance policy.. we dont' have much proven talent behind the starters..

Thank you for lending me a voice. I've been saying this all month. Besides, if the Steelers are serious about improving the offensive line, then why the **** would they take back a player who couldn't even make the cut for the Chargers? It's a lateral move at best.

Maybe this will change some minds about resigning Max:

    Max Starks?

I often listen to the chargers radio station while sitting in traffic and the word is Max is even slower afoot than last year. He has had trouble even getting out of his stance to touch some of the 2nd team DEs he has been facing in preseason. It is tough to see an old warrior like Max unable to answer the call. Please don’t count on him.

It's not Beachum's spot - it is Whimper's spot that Max would take. He would probably be inactive most weeks, with Beachum and Malecki the game day reserves.

There are other OT's cut that Chadman would prefer the Steelers look at, particularly considering that Kelvin Beachum appears to have the top OT back-up spot covered. Instead of signing up an older player, Chadman would much prefer to see a Zebrie Sanders, Senio Kelemete or Xavier Nixon type OT brought in- guys with some upside, but young enough to grow into a role.
The people that are trying to make the world worse never take a day off, why should I?

    Light up the darkness.

Agreed Chadman, when I saw Zebrie Sanders the name jumped off the page at me. I haven't focused on him mush but more the interest that we seemed to have in him when he was young and just coming out.

I know it's changing the subject but, speaking of "growing into a role," whatever happened to Casey Hampton? Did he just retire? Or is he playing for someone this season?
