so tomlin is a liar or has no clue whats going on with his players

For those who think the Steelers should've just stuck with Redman and Dwyer, you might want to read this to understand why they got Jones:

And you consider Felix Jones a UPGRADE at the RB position ? That's laughable on it's face. The guy wasn't wanted after Dallas let him walk. The RB needy Eagles dealt him away for a PS player. And the guy has already missed half of the Eagle practices with a bad Hamstring. But yeah, other then all that Felix is a All-Pro RB..( Sarcasm )

what I consider to be foolish is going into a new season expecting Mike Adams and Marcus Gilbert to be your starting OTs with Kelvin Beachum and John Malecki as your top two reserves...
Steel Maniac's Time-Based Prediction: Lamar Jackson will be a bust and total flop in the NFL.

What Actually Happened: Lamar Jackson became the youngest two-time NFL MVP winner ever.

You are going where I am thinking hawaiian. Colbert is a good GM, but even he has to know that key to a good run game is NOT the RB, but having a decent OL that can block. That is something they have been trying to fix for a while, but haven't quite got there.
More and more I am beginning to think about an old quote from Chuck Noll; "control the Nose, control the game". That goes for both sides of the ball. There have been hints that Pouncey might not be all that against the mammoth NT he has to face. I am starting to think this might be the case and was wondering if there are any beasts at center coming up in the draft that the Steelers might take a look at? Would be OK with moving Pouncey to guard in that case.

JUST-PLAIN-NASTY said " Robinson has shown flashes but this move is about now. Investment speaking...It is a win for the Steelers. A 1st rounder for an UDFA. He is a starting RB if he could stay healthy and could help you in the return game."

sedatedsteelerfan said " It means the end of Batch for sure. And it means that Felix was brought in to compete with Howling. Either he is hurt. Or Howling, even though Impressive in the first preseason game, has NOT been Impressive in practice. And maybe the Steelers wanted a different 3rd down option other then Howling."

I agree with both above replies.

He could be a replacement starter or an effective 3rd down back. Possibly the best 3rd down back TS have had in recent years was Mewelde Moore. He was far from the smallish speedster types TS have tried lately. But he was very productive and also filled in as a starter with success at times. Only puzzle is LSH looked real good. How did he get hurt? I missed that.

But nonetheless, My guess is, if FJ is sound he makes the final 53. But how? Bell, Redman, Dwyer, LSH, F. Jones, B. Batch. If Batch is out there are still 5. TS usually keep 4.

Not like Dunn was going to make the team.... but the signing of FJ definitely hurts his chances.
Tomlin: Let's unleash hell and "mop the floor" with the competition.

    Could make Dwyer trade bait.

    It certainly could...

Howling and Jones are 3rd down options and return men...

Redman is a good short yardage option...

Will Johnson seems to be developing into a good receiver out of the backfield...

In those particular roles, Dwyer doesn't seem to be as good in any of them, though he probably has more overall talent...
