Sadly, Gilby just looks weak, weak, weak.... and slow to boot. But there was no excuse for Pouncey's performance other than he was not ready to play an NFL game tonight.

Pouncey looks like garbage and the penalties are not acceptable regardless of preseason or blocking scheme. They just flat out suck.

This is true, Sid! Still, they need to have this down in the next three weeks. The OL doesn't have much depth, so a lot of things need to fall into place in a short period of time with the few guys they have. It should work out. But these guys need to step up the prep for this dramatically, if the indications are what they are.

Wrong. All teams Zone block and man block.. There is nothing new here. These guys know how to zone block from pee wee all the way up. It's so easy a cave man could do it... the little bit that I saw tonight, the OT's looked like crap. Getting rid of Starks is gonna bite em in the ars. imo. Terrible move letting him walk.
I still think they are gonna pick up a veteran OT somewhere, especially when cuts start.. Gilbert needs to sit on the bench- not sure what's happened to him since his 1st year.....

Im not buying this at all. We trot out an awful line year after year, no matter who is coaching the line, or what scheme we are running. What difference does it make that we are zone blocking when Pouncey gets murdered of the line of scrimmage by a defensive tackle??? He knew who he was supposed to block, he just got whipped. Ive seen Gilbert struggle with pass protection for years now. How is he getting adjusted to a new scheme. Its not that our lineman dont know who to block. Its that they cant block them!!
