They were just safety help over the top, but Gay was burned from the start by five yards or so.

Cruz has burned a lot of CB's... I'm not a fan of Gay as the starter but he should be OK in the nickel.

He performed exactly like I predicted....does everyone not remember the 2010 game against New England?
I was against this move from the beginning...bad ..bad...

    Your kidding, right?

Allen is a 1st year starter, Brown / Van Dyke haven't proved much of anything in this league and Hawthorne has injury concerns and he's never played an NFL snap. Also, which guy do you move to the #2 spot next year when Ike is gone?

Polamalu accepts responsibility for Victor Cruz's touchdown against Giants.

In view of the fact that Mike Tomlin has matched Cowhers record I give him the designation:

Considering Cruz BEST 40 time ever was a 4.71, I have more worries why no one could catch a guy who can't even out run Dan Marino RIGHT NOW!!

Because there is a big difference between running in shorts and running with a helmet on and a ball in your hands...

Cruz had like, 1300 yards and 10 TDs last season...he is not slow by any means...

Nope, that's the play everyone is talking about. I watched the play a few times and can't for the life of me figure out why so many people are up in arms about it. Eli threw a great ball and he didn't just beat Gay deep, he beat both safeties deep. On top of that Gay was possibly a half step behind on arguably the best slot receiver in the NFL. I'm not worried about Gay but I never have been personally. I don't want the guy playing as a number 2 corner but he's a solid nickel and that's what they brought him in to the organization again.

Go to the Depot and read the breakdown of the play. And that's just how I saw it.

My opinion of William Gay didn't start on Saturday so whether he was responsible for that TD or not doesn't matter. The guy isn't very good at all and I can't believe that we are 1 injury away from him being a #2.

Think about this.... last year, Sanders was our #3 WR. This year, it might be Wheaton or Cotchery. Whether it be Sanders (of last year), Wheaton, or Cotchery....Gay would likely be overmatched 9 out 10 times if our defense had to face our very own offense. He's a liability. If Ike and Allen can't stay healthy all year and Gay has to step into the #2 role, we're in trouble. If that happens, I'll be starting the opposing teams#2 WR in fantasy football
