yeah, might we have ourselves a 7th title if green bay treated clay matthews like we treat our high draft choices.

which brings up another point. isnt that a complex 3-4 zone blitzing team? clay didnt have to sit and learn the system?

a 5th round pick. CB hayward has seen a lot more time then our 1st round pick heyward drafted in the same year.

That is why loser teams play who play rookies tend to continue to lose.
Rookies don't have to play every rep but giving them reps in real games could speed their development and make them contributing players faster. Keeping them on the sideline in games just extends their developmemnt window and practice is not games so once they do get to start they still have to develop.

Rookies don't just start on loser teams.

Several rookies on offense and defense received reps and opportunities to contribute in real games throughout the team's recent history.

Maybe we haven't been doing a great job of drafting the right rookies recently?

That, or maybe having them sit on the bench for two or three seasons isn't helping. Had more of the rookies the Steelers have drafted over the past 5 years would have panned out, they probably would've been able to say goodbye to some of their older vets and save a good bit of cap space.

they were on the bench for that long because we had entrenched starters at those position. 2 of which at positions (DE) where we've been able to develop late round talent and a high 2nd to essential back up the best OLB tandem in the league. with the JJ pick, worldis looks like a wasted selection. hood is average and if cam doesnt see more snaps this year...he might be a worse pick then worldis

thats gonna come back and bite us in the a$$ if it hasnt already
