Michael Crabtree suffers torn Achilles in workout

The 49ers suffered a major blow during OTAs, as wide receiver Michael Crabtree suffered what could be a season-ending injury.
According to Mike Garafolo of USA Today, Crabtree tore his Achilles during a workoutTuesday, and will need surgery to repair the injury.
While players such as Terrell Suggs andDa’Quan Bowers have come back in the same season from such injuries, those cases are rare.
The 25-year-old Crabtree emerged as a threat last year, with 85 catches for 1,105 yards and nine touchdowns, and an impressive postseason.
Without him, the 49ers offense doesn’t look nearly as potent.
They haven’t shown any interest in bringing back Randy Moss, and though they acquired Anquan Boldin in a trade with the Ravens, they now lack a proven downfield threat.

I'm glad the latest CBA limited the number of workouts the teams can interface with the players (sarcasm). Since they put that in place reducing off season workouts injuries seem to be on the rise. Never saw why having players with the professional training staffs and coaches was a bad thing. This is their profession after all.

Reports are that Jarvis pulled the hammy back when he ran the 40 at his pro-day.

Interesting, I wonder if thats a factor into his slow 40.

Not that I care, JH wasn't much faster at a 4.85.

I'm surprised Shamarko didn't pull anything running his 40...

Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.

Nothing pulled, his only injury was bruised ego.

I never understood the rationale of limiting team workouts. I work 40+ hours a week. If I wanted to go somewhere else to work or had an incredible job offer out of college in another city I would either not see my family or move them to the city the job is in. I make under 1/10th of a guy making a million.

Some of these players make 3 to 20 million a year and they bitch about too much time on the job with their employer. It is a complete joke. Owners should of locked these p?ssies out till they agreed to actually work year round for those massive contracts.
